About the Weight Loss Calculator
This calculator compares a starting weight with a target weight and summarizes the difference. If you add a target date, it estimates a linear weekly pace. That pace is simple division — not a model of calories, hormones, or adherence.
What this tool does
It plans a weight-loss (or weight-change) goal from current weight, target weight, and an optional timeline.
How the result is calculated
Difference = target − start. Percentage change = difference ÷ starting weight × 100. With a date, weekly pace ≈ total difference ÷ number of weeks.
Important limitations
No basal metabolic rate, diet, or exercise prescription is calculated. Linear pacing ignores plateaus, water weight, and medication effects. Very aggressive goals can be unsafe even if the math is valid.
